What do I do with an open capacitor and a short on the wires connected to the capacitor on a pool pump?

My pool pump was making a humming noise, but was not pumping water. After some internet searching I found the two most common causes were a stuck impeller or a bad capacitor. I checked the impeller, and it is fine.

I then disconnected and discharged the capacitor. I hooked up a multimeter and measured the resistance; it always reads infinite (I read this is called an open capacitor, and it must be replaced). I then tested the wires leading to the capacitor; they read near zero resistance.

I figured I would just order a new capacitor online, but is the short on the connecting wires a concern? I have a very basic understanding of electricity, but nothing advanced. Thanks for any help.
